Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) As per section 11(2)(c) of the Private Security and Investigative Service Act, 2005, all applicants must provide a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) with their application. A Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) in its official format from a police service. Your CRJMC must have been issued within the past six (6) months/must not be older than six (6) months from the date you submit your application.

A CRJMC includes:

  • Applicable criminal convictions
  • Findings of guilt under the federal Youth Criminal Justice Act
  • Absolute and conditional discharges
  • Outstanding charges, arrest warrants, and certain judicial orders

Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Checks from third-party providers will not be accepted.

  • The time it takes is not exact time, it may change anytime without notice depending on the volume of request by the individual police department.
  • The CRJMC must be in a PDF format that has been digitally issued by the police service.
  • Applicants who receive a physical copy of a CRJMC by any police service must submit their application by mail. Only the original physical copy of the CRJMC will be accepted.
